Leaders come from all areas of an academic library; however, there are certain factors that contribute to leadership development. This paper discusses how academic libraries can cultivate leadership at all levels within their organization through a number of methods, including the adoption and communication of a clear strategic organizational vision statement. Do you consider yourself a leader, and if not, have you ever thought of recasting yourself in that role?
