Session Description
The number of college students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is growing rapidly. Learn the traits and characteristics of ASD and how it impacts college students. We will share concrete strategies for communicating with students with ASD. These strategies will apply to a variety of circumstances, such as helping students at service points, providing library instruction, or working with student employees.

Rachel is the Information Literacy and Humanities Librarian at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is the subject librarian for our Art, English, and Philosophy departments. She also spends a lot of her time teaching--more than 100 sessions every year.
Kerry Walton

Kerry Walton is an assistant professor and electronic resources librarian at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where she provides reference services, instruction, and support for electronic resources to students, faculty, and staff. Prior to working at West Chester, Kerry provided reference services and instruction at branch campuses for Delaware County Community College, where she worked closely with diverse student populations.
