Pamela Bach

Pamela Bach is an associate librarian in the Research, Teaching and Services Department at the University of Cincinnati. As the Undergraduate Research and Teaching Librarian, she is responsible for coordinating library undergraduate initiatives which include digital scholarship research, the common reading program, liaison with English Composition Program, and advocating for undergraduate needs. She is passionate about teaching with a strong commitment to engaging students through active learning.

Paige holds an M.Litt. in art history from Christie’s Education, London and an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In addition to providing reference and instruction, she administers her library’s social media platforms, chairs the marketing team, co-chairs the Art in the UW-Parkside Library team, and coordinates the library’s Therapuppies program. Her professional interests include marketing, outreach, programming, space planning, and collection development. Her non-professional interests include art, travel, YA historical fiction, being a cat lady, and listening to true crime podcasts.

William M. Cross is Director of the Copyright and Digital Scholarship Center at North Carolina State University where he provides guidance to campus stakeholders on legal issues and open access to scholarship, data, and educational resources. As a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Will earned an M.A. in Technology & Communication, a J.D. in Law, and an M.S.L.S. in Library Science. Before joining NCSU Libraries, Will worked in academic and law libraries, in constitutional litigation, and at the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
 
Will is an instructor in the UNC School of Information & Library Science and lectures nationally on copyright, scholarly communication, and open culture. He has been quoted in publications such as The Chronicle of Higher Education, Library Journal, and Techdirt and publishes regularly on topics ranging from the pedagogy of legal education for librarians to the First Amendment status of video games.


Danielle Dion

Danielle Dion
Director of De Paul Library, University of Saint Mary
Danielle Theiss Dion holds an MA in Religious Studies with a focus in American Religious History, an MLS in Information Science and Learning Technologies and an MBA. Danielle’s library received the 2016 Steelcase Education Active Learning Center grant. She has served as the Director of the De Paul Library at the University of Saint Mary since 2014 and actively participates on the 2016 ACRL Standards for Libraries in Higher Education taskforce and is a peer reviewer for ACRL’s College & Research Libraries. Danielle is a 2015 graduate of the ACRL College Library Director Mentor Program as well as a 2011 fellow of the Digital Preservation Management Workshop sponsored by ICPSR. She was also the Rockhurst University campus team leader for the 2014 ACRL Assessment in Action: Academic Libraries and Student Success program. Shaunna Hunter

Shaunna Hunter
Interim Library Director, Hampden-Sydney College
Shaunna Hunter is currently the Interim Director of the Bortz Library at Hampden-Sydney College, a liberal arts college for men in central Virginia. Before becoming Interim Director, she was the Public Services Librarian and Associate Library Director. She has worked at Hampden-Sydney College since 2002. Shaunna is also a member of the Collections Committee for VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia consortium, and is currently Treasurer of the Virginia Library Association. Her MLIS degree is from the University of South Carolina.


Lizah Ismail

Lizah Ismail is Assistant Professor and Director of the A.J. Eastwood Library at Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. She was formerly the Outreach and Instruction Librarian where she oversaw and coordinated all outreach efforts with distance students as well as oversees and conducts library instruction for both traditional and distance students. Prior to coming to Limestone, Lizah was Coordinator of Public Services at Marywood University in Scranton, PA and Head of Reference and Information Literacy at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. She is a member of the PASCAL (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries) Board of Directors and has presented her research on non-traditional students, Net Generation students, and the use of Course Management Software in library services at several conferences. She has also published on these topics. She received her MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and her MA in Communications


Becky Leporati

I’m a recent graduate from the University of Washington Information School. My position with the University of Cincinnati Libraries as a Digital Literacy Fellow is my first professional librarian job. Prior to this, I worked as a graduate assistant at the Engineering Library at UW. I also had a year-long fellowship with the University of Washington Press where I had the opportunity to learn how scholarly monographs are produced and marketed. My professional interests include instruction, digital scholarship, and scholarly communication. I am a grateful recipient of the ACRL 2017 Early-career Librarian Scholarship.

Susanne Markgren is the Assistant Director of the Library for Technical Services, at Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY. She is a member of the executive board of ACRL/NY and the New Publications Advisory Board of ACRL. She has written articles, book reviews, and chapters for a variety of publications including CHOICE, Library Journal, C&RL News, Serials Librarian, Medical Reference Services Quarterly, and Library Administration and Management; and co-authored the book Career Q&A: A Librarian’s Real-Life, Practical Guide to Managing a Successful Career. She holds an MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin and an MFA in creative writing from Manhattanville College.

Kristen Mastel is an outreach and instruction librarian at the University of Minnesota. She received her Masters of Library Science from Indiana University, and her undergraduate Bachlor of Arts from the University of Minnesota- Morris. Her research areas of interest include instruction, information literacy, outreach and instructional design. Kristen is a Past President of the Minnesota Library Association. She also is a Director of the United States Agricultural Information Network. She enjoys teaching students, staff, and faculty across the University through the Libraries’ Workshop series and by developing online instruction. Karen leads efforts at Gale, a division of Cengage Learning, centered on making the traditionally library focused resources Gale provides discoverable in the path of intended users – students, faculty and learners. This includes work with external partners such as library discovery service providers and Google/Google Scholar as well as other projects within Gale and Cengage Learning. She has worked with libraries for over 10 years in product and marketing management positions at Gale, ProQuest and OCLC. Karen holds an MBA from Rutgers University and a BS in Multidisciplinary Science and Scientific Communication from Purdue University. She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.


Linda Miles

Linda Miles is Assistant Professor and Reference/Instruction Librarian in the Hostos Community College Library (CUNY). She is chair of the ACRL/NY New Librarians Discussion Group and convener of the METRO Bibliographic Instruction Special Interest Group. Linda holds a Master of Library Science degree from St. Johns University, and an MA and PhD in Theatre History/Criticism from the University of Texas at Austin. She recently authored a contribution to Career Transitions for Librarians: Proven Strategies for Moving to Another Type of Library (2016, Rowman & Littlefield).

Claire Nickerson is the Learning Initiatives and OER Librarian at the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Forsyth Library. She holds an MLIS with a concentration in informatics and a certificate in digital humanities from UCLA. Claire works with faculty to identify, adopt, adapt, create, and implement open educational resources in the classroom and is a member of FHSU’s Teaching and Research Team, which provides reference and instruction and designs and implements student programming.

Lindsay O’Neill is the Instructional Design Librarian at California State University, Fullerton’s Pollak Library, where she designs and develops tutorials related to information literacy and library research using Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Camtasia. She is also a faculty member in CSUF’s Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology program.
 
Lindsay regularly consults on effective pedagogy, instructional design, educational technology, open licensing, and accessibility. Lindsay holds a Master in Education, specializing in Educational Technology/Instructional Design, as well as a Master of Library and Information Science. Her research interests include digital badges, open educational resources, open licensing, and learning object repositories.

Melissa Olson is the Head of Archives at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. A graduate of UW-Milwaukee School of Information Studies with an archives concentration, Melissa is responsible for creating and implementing digital collections policies and preserving and providing access to the university’s digital collections. She is also co-chair of the Art in the UW-Parkside Library program.

Martha Parker

Martha Parker is the Digital Services Librarian for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she worked in cataloging initially, and in special collections for the past four years creating digital collections. Parker received an MLIS in 2011 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she also received the prestigious UNCG’s Academic and Cultural Enrichment (ACE) Scholarship, a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the UNCG-LIS department.
 
Parker also holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Queens University of Charlotte, and Elementary School Certification from Normal Miguel F. Martinez in Mexico. A former educator and an experienced business executive, Parker has led several local and national committees since the beginning of her graduate school studies.

Michael Rodriguez is Electronic Resources Librarian at the University of Connecticut, where he spearheads licensing, acquisitions, and vendor negotiations as well as managing projects and streamlining everything he can reach. Michael has taught twelve webinars and workshops on topics such as copyright, fair use, and eresource management for the nonprofit sector.

Laura K. Wiegand is the Associate Director, Library Information Technology and Digital Strategies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Over the last 8 years at UNCW she has held various library IT positions, including Coordinator of Discovery Services. Currently she provides programmatic management and leadership for information technology, systems, digital initiatives, resource discovery and online services, with special interest in project management and effective teams.
